John Watson Artwork
How It All Started
It all started by watching my grandparents doing book binding down in their basement in North Toronto. This was an activity they thoroughly enjoyed.
When binding books, they also used a technique called marbling. Marbling is a Japanese art form from the fourteenth century. They placed the artwork on the inside of the book covers on the books they were binding.
I was lucky enough to have learned the art of marbling from Nana. She used a large shallow galvanized rectangular pan when creating her art.
